Running the words and the work behind the TEDx stage.

TEDxShanghai is the largest TEDx conference in Asia, bringing together more than 2,000 attendees across two days of talks, workshops, and performances. In 2016, I was invited by the founder to join the core team shaping the event’s brand and communications strategy, working from concept through to delivery on that year’s global theme: *BALANCE*.

Two full days of learning, discussion and conversation. We made sure the tone was consistent and clear from first invite to final applause.

I led the development of the event’s visual identity, content, and communications—spanning signage, uniforms, app, digital collateral, and printed program. The event kicked off in the Shanghai Tower and featured a wide range of speakers including National Geographic photographer Ami Vitale, an inventor, a yarn bomber, a wildlife conservationist, and the stylist behind *Sex and the City*.

It was fast-paced and collaborative. Part creative, part logistical, and all about getting the details right so the ideas could shine.

Richard Hsu—Founder

“100% of the feedback we have received for TEDxShanghai has been 300% positive. It was a joy working with Shermaine, who managed to facilitate the process without making us feel pressured despite the tight deadlines provided to them. One can not ask for anything more – great work, mindful caring, and a most pleasant experience.”
